History of The Well Red Coyote

During their many years of visiting Sedona, Kris and Joe Neri thought that while New Age and Regional books were well represented, the town needed a good general interest bookstore. They imagined creating a community spot where writers and readers could gather to share ideas and celebrate the written word.

The Well Red Coyote’s Grand Opening was on April 15, 2005, offering a truly diverse and unique selection of books. They also began hosting events Sedona had never seen before…writing workshops, healing seminars, personal growth talks, poetry readings, live music presentations, and many other kinds of author and musician presentations. All always free.

By early 2006, the people of Sedona voted The Well Red Coyote the town’s Best Bookstore in the KUDOS 2006 Reader’s Choice Award. The WRC has since received three such awards, for 2007 and 2008 as well. Read testimonials from some of our customers.

The WRC has now hosted well over 1000 author appearances, with national bestselling authors, such as Diana Gabaldon, David Morrell, J.A. Jance and Alan Jacobson, as well as many Southwestern and Arizona authors, and countless Sedona authors.

Also recently published is her new urban fantasy, HIGH CRIMES ON THE MAGICAL PLANE. Her other books include a standalone suspense novel, NEVER SAY DIE, the short story collection, THE ROSE IN THE SNOW. If there's anything Kris loves as much as writing, it's reading, and sharing her love of books with others.
