WRC Creative Writing Salon
— Thursday, September 3rd & 17th, 6:00 — 7:30

Held on the first and third Thursday of
each month, The Well Red Coyote Creative Writing Salon
is for all those writing or wanting to write creatively –
prose, poetry, fiction, nonfiction, essays, songwriting, and
all other written forms. Moderated by award-winning author and
poet, Gary Every, each meeting
will emphasize different aspects of the craft of creative writing,
including writing exercises and group discussion.
The Well Red Coyote Creative Writing Salon is meant to provide
a safe place for writers to share their work with other writers.
What united them all is a passion for written and spoken word.
All writers, at all level, are welcome. Listeners are are also

Scott H. Silverman is an in-demand
leadership speaker. He has received numerous awards and honors
including recently being named “CNN Hero of the Week”
and the City of San Diego honored him by selecting February
19 as “Scott Silverman Day” for his contributions
to the community. He is the Executive Director and Founder of
Second Chance, a human services agency that is committed to
breaking the cycle of unemployment, poverty, and homelessness
by offering job readiness training, employment placement assistance,
and mental health counseling to people who desire to change
their lives. Over the past 15 years Second Chance has assisted
more than 24,000 economically disadvantaged in San Diego gain
employment and leave poverty, gang affiliations, and crime.

Coyote Presents…Another Night of Music
Featuring: Lyra
Friday, September 18, 6:30 – 8 pm:
Back by popular demand! Sedona and Phoenix/Valley favorites,
Allen Ames and Maryanne
Kremer-Ames, who play together
as Lyra, will present another concert
for us.
Founded in 1987 by violinist Allen Ames
and classical guitarist Maryanne Kremer-Ames,
Lyra uses classical and electric
instruments to create a lively concert format with many styles
of music. Maryanne's experience as a symphonic percussionist,
and Allen's selfmade five and six-string violins, give Lyra
a musical range far beyond the standard violin and guitar repertoire.
Lyra has performed hundreds of
engagements all over Arizona, as well as California, New Mexico
and New York. The duo has been featured on television and radio
broadcasts in the Phoenix area, performed and recorded with
the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, and played with Dave Brubeck
in his "Fiesta de la Posada" Christmas cantata. Lyra
is a touring ensemble for the Arizona Commission on the Arts.
Since 1989, Lyra has been engaged as the annual Summer ensemble
in residence at the Briar Patch Inn in Sedona, where they perform
concerts and other musical activities. Maryanne and Allen were
married at the Briar Patch in the Fall of 1989. Their CDs include
WAY BACK TOMORROW, FOUR
HANDS ONE HEART, THE FIRST ALBUM
and CHRISTMAS WITH LYRA. This concert
is always SRO; come early for a seat. |

Join us as Sedona author, Jeri Castronova,
PhD, shows us how to survey new techniques for exploration
into the thrilling unknown. The Unknown lies just around the
corner in our Unconscious. A choice to step across the line
faces us every day in our writing. If past programming keeps
us stuck in the belief that there is danger in the darkness,
we retreat into safety and lose the treasures our mind can offer.
The thrill of writing not only thrillers, but all writing depends
on how we approach the unfamiliar in our path that may be due
to physical, emotional, mental or spiritual issues—both
ours and our characters.
Jeri will discuss some of the strange new ways she accessed
the serendipitous discoveries that appear in her new book, CODE
OF THE KING: A Deadly Search for Ancient Wisdom, the
Award-Winning Book 1 of her New Supernatural Thriller Series,
